Auditory Prostheses & Perception Laboratory, Boys Town Nat'l Res Hospital

Auditory Prostheses & Perception Laboratory, Boys Town Nat'l Res Hospital We investigate sound and speech perception by individuals with cochlear implants.

Our research focuses on the processing of prosthetic electrical stimulation by the auditory system in cochlear implant patients. In an attempt to understand how the brain processes such inputs, we have also engaged in research on how normally hearing brains process degraded auditory inputs. We collaborate with researchers at UCSF (Dr Charles Limb), the University of Maryland, College Park (Dr Rochelle Newman), and Chi-Mei Medical Center in Tainan, Taiwan (Dr. Yung-Song Lin). A full list of our peer-reviewed publications is to be found here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Chatterjee+M+AND+(cochlear+OR+speech)
