Meet our new Doctor of Physical Therapy Mikey Thomas, he started at CORE about 8 weeks ago after completing his residency at Creighton University Medical Center.

Dr. Michael (Mikey) Thomas, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist | Sports Rehab Specialist
Dr. Mikey Thomas is a skilled and motivated physical therapist at CORE Physical Therapy, specializing in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. He earned his undergraduate degree in Integrative Physiology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Colorado and completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Creighton University in 2024.
Driven by a deep interest in sports medicine, Mikey completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at Creighton University, where he gained hands-on experience working with Division I collegiate athletes across a variety of sports, as well as pediatric athletes with diverse orthopedic conditions. During his residency, he also treated acute, on-field injuries, sharpening his clinical decision-making and emergency response skills. He is certified in dry needling and is preparing to take his Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) exam in March 2026.
With a background that includes experience as a strength and conditioning coach in Colorado, Mikey brings a unique blend of performance training and rehabilitation to his clinical approach. He is particularly passionate about working with overhead athletes, helping them restore function and reach peak performance through a combination of manual therapy, corrective exercise, and patient education.
Outside the clinic, youβll find Mikey lifting, enjoying the outdoors, golfing, and connecting with new people. His approachable personality, paired with his clinical expertise, makes him a valuable part of the CORE Physical Therapy team.
