New Visions Omaha

Must qualify to be accepted into program
Clients can still access case managers and therapist as needed
David's House is connected to the main campus at New Visions Omaha
The Veterans Transitional Living Program is housed in the Dr. Maurice J. Hart building at the New Visions Omaha Campus. The 2 year transitional living program is designed to help the veterans of the United States get back on their feet while aiding in their recovery from trauma, PTSD, financial loss, relationship issues, and general life problems of any kind. This 26 unit complex comes as single bedroom apartments which consist of a kitchenette, living room, bedroom, bathroom and shower facilities in each room. Each apartment is approximately 500 square feet a piece.

Meet Bonnie! Bonnie is the Nebraska State VFW Auxiliary Chaplain and has been organizing a monthly potato drive for our Omaha Veteran's Campus. She has worked with various Auxiliary posts throughout the state to deliver 100 pounds of potatoes per month to help feed our vets. During Military Appreciation Month, we want to thank Bonnie for organizing this statewide effort to serve our veterans experiencing homelessness. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Just like our CB van, our Omaha Veteran's Campus van has a new look as well! Look for this vehicle on the streets of Omaha bringing our clients to and from appointments, picking up donations, and putting our mission in action! We're proud to serve US Veterans experiencing homelessness and grateful to be able to transport them around the community. โค๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

Yesterday we celebrated the completion of a month's-long project to re-carpet our entire Omaha Veteran's Campus. The Nebraska VFW worked with 26 other organizations including local VFW posts, Auxiliaries, businesses, and individuals to collect funds and supplies to re-carpet the entire facility, and our own Veteran guests at the facility provided the labor for the project.

The work took several months and was finally completed yesterday, when Chris Beaty, the Nebraska State VFW Commander and leader of the project, laid the final carpet square. This is one of our largest in-kind gifts ever and would have cost over $100,000 to pay for the project. The completion of this project comes at a meaningful time for all involved as May is Military Appreciation Month. Our deepest gratitude to the Nebraska VFW and the following VFW posts and groups for their contributions to this project:

You can usually find Elliott Threatt performing his comedy routine in Kansas City, but yesterday, he performed a beautiful act of service for our Veterans experiencing homelessness at our New Visions Omaha Campus. Elliott is celebrating his birthday today, and instead of buying a meal for himself, he bought lunch for our Veterans. Thanks to Elliott and to our friends at Atlas Medical for serving lunch!๐Ÿฅฐ
