Dr. Sirott’s focus is on patient-centered care and tailoring the eye exam to the patient’s individual needs. In addition to accurate contact lens and eyeglass prescriptions, he specializes on maintaining good overall health. Eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, vascular conditions, and others problems can be detected early on in an eye exam to prevent long-term vision loss. Many sy
stemic conditions affect the eyes and are also evaluated during the eye exam. Dr. Sirott earned Board Certification at the American Board of Optometry in 2014. He has been an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington since 2003. Dr. Sirott grew up in Northern Virginia near Washington D.C. He completed undergraduate school at University of Mary Washington with bachelor degree’s in biology and visual science in 1998. After graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2002 he completed a post doctorate residency program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. After finishing this training in 2003, he moved to Spokane, drawn to the beauty of the Northwest. He worked at the Spokane Veterans Affairs Medical Center from 2003 to 2011, serving the veteran population with an emphasis on treatment of ocular disease, maintaining healthy vision, blind rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. While at the hospital he was on faculty at several schools of optometry and was involved with teaching student and resident doctors. Dr. Sirott has lectured on topics including ocular disease, low vision, and traumatic brain injury. In 2011 he left the VA to seek new challenges in the private sector. Outside of his profession, Dr. Sirott is involved with the community. As a Regional A USA Cycling official, he travels to bicycle races throughout the northwest. In his leisure time he and his wife, Sarah, enjoy cycling, bicycle racing, photography, skiing, and anything outdoors.
