TRAINER TIP THURSDAY- Physioball Core Work! 🔥

A small ball can completely change how your core engages—adding instability makes your deep stabilizers work harder, improving strength, control, and injury resilience.

👉 Here’s what each move trains:

1️⃣ Marches – Teaches pelvic control and stability while your legs move. Great for dialing in low back support.

2️⃣ 90/90 Leg Extensions – Progresses control by lengthening the lever (legs), challenging the core to resist arching.

3️⃣ Leg Circles – Works rotational stability and control as your core resists tipping side-to-side.

4️⃣ V-sit with Overhead Reaches – Fires up the entire anterior core while coordinating arm + trunk stability—athletic and functional!

Ready to be entered in to win $500 Dynamic Credit?!💵

Here are next week's challenges. It is pretty simple:

➡️ Pick a Dynamic staff member you want to compete against. You can choose a different therapist each day.

➡️ Come into the office a few minutes before your appointment to complete the days challenge. Don't have an appointment, but still want to get in on the fun? Stop in any time between 8 am and 5 pm to complete the challenge.

➡️ Your results are recorded. You can stop in each day to complete the challenge of the day and be entered in multiple times for the drawing!

🏆 Friday, October 10th, the Dynamic staff will be completing ALL of the challenges together and recording their results. If your results beat the staff member you chose, your name is entered into the drawing!

💦Want to make your favorite staff member sweat a little bit?! Make sure to stop in the office on Friday, October 10th between 8 am and 3 pm to complete the daily challenge. You beat your chosen staff member? A bucket of water gets dumped on their head for every person that chose them and beats them!

There will be one daily challenge for our clients'/patients'/ partners to beat your Dynamic Therapists! Each challenge will highlight various physical therapy activities including sports movements, activities and exercises.

On October 10th, the Dynamic team will compete not just against our clients but against each other! Come join in the fun each day with a chance to win!

Clients who beat our therapists will be put into a drawing for a $500 Dynamic Credit! 🏆

MOBILITY MONDAY with Dr. Matt Haberl- Nerve Gliding and Flossing 💆

Your nerves don’t just carry signals — they also need to move freely through surrounding tissues. When they get irritated or restricted, you might feel burning, tingling, numbness, or sharp “zings” down an arm.

🔹 Gliding = the nerve moves back and forth in one direction, helping restore mobility.
🔹 Flossing = one end of the nerve is lengthened while the other is shortened, like gently tugging dental floss back and forth — this helps reduce sensitivity and irritation.

Here’s where you might notice symptoms, and why these drills can help:

Radial Nerve 👉 Burning/tingling along the back of the arm, forearm, and into the thumb.

Median Nerve 👉 Numbness/tingling through the palm, thumb, index, and middle fingers (think carpal tunnel–type symptoms).

Ulnar Nerve 👉 Achiness or tingling in the pinky + ring fingers, sometimes running along the inside of the elbow (“funny bone” area).

These movements are designed to gently restore motion of the nerve, calm sensitivity, and reduce those pesky symptoms.

⚠️ Always move within a pain-free range — you should feel a mild tension/stretch, not a flare-up. If symptoms worsen, stop and consult a professional.

TRAINER TIP THURSDAY- Core using a Physioball 💪

Working abs with a small physioball under your low back challenges your core in a unique way:

✅ Good Form:
-Keep ribs tucked + low back supported on the ball.
-Move slow and controlled.
-Exhale with effort to engage deep abs.

❌ Bad Form:
-Overarching your low back (ball sliding away).
-Pulling on your neck with your hands.
-Rushing through reps.

💡 Why do these exercises?
-They target your deep abdominals for true stability (not just surface “six-pack” muscles).
-The ball provides support while increasing the challenge → more range of motion and control.
-Great for improving posture, protecting your spine, and enhancing performance in both workouts and daily life.

RECIPE REHAB- Apple Walnut Harvest Salad

Fall in a bowl 🍂 This Apple Walnut Harvest Salad is packed with flavor and function:
🍎 Apples = antioxidants + gut-friendly fiber
🥗 Dark leafy greens = calcium + vitamin K for bone strength
🌰 Walnuts = omega-3s to fight inflammation + support heart/brain health
🧀 Goat cheese = protein + probiotics (optional boost!)

Ingredients:
¾ cup raw walnut halves
2 small apples or 1 large apple cored and thinly sliced (recommended: Honeycrisp)
4 ounces baby arugula about 4 tightly packed cups
3 Belgian endives* about 6 ounces
⅓ cup dried cranberries or golden raisins
3 ounces crumbled gorgonzola**

For the Dressing:
1 small shallot very finely chopped
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
¾ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
