The Tickets for Kids Charities - MN program made it possible for 6 lucky Youth to attend Valleyfair! A special thanks for the customer service staff at Valleyfair who helped us with our tickets. Our guys absolutely love everything about Valleyfair and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

15 of our youth had an unforgettable night at the Lynx Inspiring Women Night Game on Tuesday, July 22, at the Target Center! The event featured various entertainers and an award presentation. Then it was time to settle in and cheer on the Lynx in their 91-68 victory vs. the Chicago Sky. A big thanks to Minnesota Lynx for making this fun and educational opportunity available to us!

Thanks to the Nexus-Mille Lacs staff who did such a wonderful job organizing our recent Summer Kick-Off event. Activities included: Bazooka Ball, dunk tank, yard games, pig roast, and a Pinewood Derby. This super fun day helped create fond memories for staff and youth alike!

Our Story

Nexus-Mille Lacs Family Healing is located approximately 75 miles north of the Twin Cities, on a 40-acre wooded lot, just outside the town of Onamia, MN. The northern Minnesota site allows for outdoor activities like camping, canoeing, and hiking. Treatment programs focus on boys, ages 10-19, with significant mental health issues and sexually problematic behaviors, and other special needs. Nexus-Mille Lacs also operates a group home in Onamia.

In addition, these boys may have lower intellectual functioning (IQs from 55-70), pervasive developmental delays, and/or other special needs. Some may also struggle with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Effect, Attention Deficit Disorder, Disruptive Behaviors, Impulse Control Disorders, and/or other Brain-Based Disorders.

Treatment interventions address sexually problematic behaviors, boundary issues, and the resolution of personal victimization issues. Individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, experiential and brain-based therapy, recreational and vocational programming, psychological assessment, psychiatric and medication monitoring, medical services, and independent living skills are all integral aspects of treatment. We treat each boy as an individual and recognize his unique needs and history.
