💜 This is What Recovery Looks Like 💜
Meet Michael and Stephanie Schrock, two people whose story proves that healing, faith, and love can rebuild even the most broken parts of life.
Both Michael and Stephanie have walked long, difficult roads marked by cycles of abuse, addiction, and time spent in jail. Each spent time behind bars at different points in their lives - moments that forced them to confront their choices and sparked the desire for change. Their battles with Substance Use Disorder took a heavy toll - physically, mentally, and emotionally. It strained family relationships and tested them as parents, both determined that their children would never follow the same path.
Michael and Stephanie first met 13 years ago, during a time when both were still struggling and caught in the chaos of addiction. It wasn’t until about six years ago that their individual recovery journeys truly began to take root. Through faith, surrender, and a lot of hard work, they began healing from the inside out - learning, as Michael says, to “love and accept life just by showing up.”
Stephanie shares an important reminder for anyone still in the struggle: “Find places to help you, and don’t be ashamed.”
Today, their story continues to unfold. Surrounded by their eleven children and three grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie recently said “I do,” celebrating a love built on grace, growth, and gratitude. Their family stood proudly beside them, a beautiful reminder that recovery doesn’t just change lives, it rebuilds them.
At Myrtle Recovery Centers, we believe stories like theirs remind us that healing is possible, families can be restored, and love can grow from even the hardest beginnings. Michael and Stephanie’s story is still being written - one day, one step, and one prayer at a time.
💍 Congratulations, Michael and Stephanie - your journey inspires hope in us all.
