Big South Fork Medical Center was honored to sponsor and host this month’s Scott County Chamber of Commerce meeting alongside Myrtle Recovery Centers. 💙

Events like these are important in bringing together the businesses, organizations, and leaders of Scott County as we continue working to grow our community, support job creation, expand services, and encourage positive development across our county. Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for all you do for our community. 🙏

We were grateful to welcome Senator Ken Yager, who shared informative updates on initiatives and opportunities supporting rural healthcare in Tennessee. 🇺🇸

Our Interim CEO, Cathal McGuckin, shared updates on the continued growth of Big South Fork Medical Center, while Myrtle Recovery Centers CEO Bob Merritt highlighted the work Myrtle is doing to support patients in Scott County and across Tennessee.

Thank you to Quality Home Health for welcoming Jack from our BSFMC team today! 💙 We appreciate the opportunity to share more about our Swing Bed Program and how it helps patients continue their recovery close to home.

As Quality Home Health mentioned, Swing Beds provide short term skilled care for patients who may still need therapy, IV antibiotics, wound care, or additional nursing support before safely returning home. 🏥 For our community, this means patients can often recover closer to family and their local support system.

Looking back on last week, we truly appreciate our BSFMC team and everything they do. 💙 We look forward to each year as a chance to spend a full week celebrating everyone, but we appreciate this team every single day of the year. Here’s a look back at some of the fun from last week:

🍗 Tuesday - We enjoyed lunch and dinner catered by Lee's Famous Recipe, Oneida Tennessee.

🌮 Wednesday- We celebrated with a taco bar for lunch and dinner catered by El Rey's

🍕 Thursday - We had delicious pizza from Just Pizza and enjoyed an afternoon snack of freshly popped Popcorn 🍿

🍔 Friday - We wrapped up the week with a cookout. This year was a little different, as the cookout was always one of Hal’s favorite Hospital Week traditions while he manned the grill. We hope we did him proud by continuing one of the traditions he enjoyed most. Thank you to Cathal and Dr. Cathy, along with help from the team at Doc's Diner at Big South Fork Medical Center for the cookout and ice cream bar! 🍦

📸 As part of Friday’s Flash Back Friday theme, Dr. Cathy brought in albums filled with old newspaper articles, photos, and memories from the hospital years ago, including framed photos of babies born at the hospital over the years. It was a special reminder of the long history and deep connection this hospital has with our community. Were you born here? 💙👶

👕 We also had our Hospital Week t shirts printed locally by U Name It Embroidery & Vinyl. We are grateful for the local businesses and community partners who helped make the week special for our team.

Thank you again to everyone who helped us celebrate and to each business for making the ordering, delivery, setup, and overall process so easy for our team during a busy week. 🙏

We are catching up from a busy week of celebrations and would like to say a huge thank you to Pastor Dave Barnhouse from Helenwood Baptist Church for taking the time to bless our team at Big South Fork Medical Center during both day and night shift last week. 🙏

is underway at Big South Fork Medical Center, and we kicked off the week with some great local treats to help fuel our team for the busy week ahead.

Yesterday our team enjoyed fresh coffee and delicious baked treats catered by Gather Coffee Company, all freshly prepared in store. We also enjoyed specialty drinks from Ta's TastyTreats. 🧉 We love partnering with and supporting local businesses during Hospital Week while celebrating the incredible people who care for our community every day. 💚

We are also proud to celebrate alongside our partners at Myrtle Recovery Centers and are grateful to have them located right here on our hospital campus. Their team provides compassionate care and support to individuals and families across our region every day. 💙

Most importantly, thank you to every member of our BSFMC family. From those providing direct patient care to the many team members working behind the scenes to keep our hospital running each day. Every Role Matters. The compassion, dedication, and hard work shown across our organization all play a part in supporting our patients, their families, and our community. 🙏

Local hospitals are more than healthcare facilities. They are lifelines for the communities they serve, and we are proud to continue providing care close to home.
