Measles Are Confirmed In Wisconsin — Protect Yourself and Your Community
Measles spreads very easily, but the good news is that it’s also highly preventable. The best protection is staying up to date on your MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine.

How to Protect Yourself
• Make sure you’re vaccinated with the MMR vaccine
• Check your immunization status (especially important for adults who aren’t sure of their history)
• Stay alert for symptoms like fever, cough, runny nose, and rash
• If you think you’ve been exposed, contact a healthcare provider right away

Learn more about measles, symptoms, and prevention from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services:
https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/immunization/measles.htm

Not sure if you’re up to date on vaccines? You can look up your records online:
https://www.dhfswir.org/PR/clientSearch.do?language=en

Keeping vaccinations current helps protect children, vulnerable adults, and the entire community. To schedule your vaccination appointment, call Oneida Community Health Services at (920) 869-4840.

❤️ It’s Wear Red Day! ❤️

Today, OCHD staff joined millions across the country in raising awareness for the fight against heart disease in women—the number one killer of women in the U.S.

By wearing red, we’re standing together to:
🔹 Support women affected by heart disease
🔹 Spark conversations about prevention
🔹 Encourage healthier hearts in our communities

Let’s continue to advocate, educate, and empower.

Strong hearts start with awareness. Stronger hearts start with action. ❤️

February is American Heart Month – Let’s Strengthen Our Hearts Together

This month, join us in lifting up awareness about heart health and supporting one another in making choices that keep our minds, bodies, and spirits strong.

To care for our hearts, we can take simple steps in our daily meals—steps backed by guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

Nourish the Heart with Foods from the Earth

• Add more fruits and vegetables throughout your day—small swaps can make a big difference.

• Choose whole, fresh foods when possible and be mindful of sodium. Most salt doesn’t come from the shaker, but from packaged and restaurant foods.

• Try replacing salt with herbs and traditional seasonings like thyme, pepper, or other flavorful spices.

• Explore the DASH eating plan, which offers a flexible, balanced approach to eating in a heart healthy way using everyday foods.

These practices honor both our well being and the foods our ancestors trusted to sustain them.

As we move through February, let’s continue to support one another—checking in on our loved ones, sharing healthy meals, and choosing daily habits that keep our hearts strong for the generations ahead.

Together, we take care of our hearts. Together, we thrive.
