Meet Leanne Haitian, our Residential Manager in Cortland. Leanne started at The Arc Madison Cortland in 2021. Before working at The Arc, Leanne worked with at risk youth at The William George Agency, another non-profit. A typical day of work for Leanne involves paperwork, ordering supplies for the residence, making sure the residents have anything they may need, and various scheduling. Leanne also values investing time with her staff to make sure they are well equipped for success.

Like the core of our mission, Leanne’s favorite part of the job is making a difference in the lives of the people that she serves. Leanne enjoys watching her residents learn new things and do things they’ve never done before. She does everything she can to support them in growth and independence. “I love helping people become the best version of themselves”.

Leanne’s advice for someone starting in this field is that even though it will challenge you at times it will always be very rewarding. Which is a perfect pairing to her daily motto “Never give up, you can do anything you put your mind to”. A fun fact about Leanne is before going into the non-profit field she wanted to be a police officer. In her free time, she values spending time with her wife and family. They’re favorite things to do are visiting vineyards or hiking with their huskies. We are so lucky to have Leanne on our team!
