TODAY IS THE DAY!!
So, Mother Nature has you down, and your smile has turned into a frown this Halloween Eve no worries. Ditch those umbrellas and raingear and come Trick or Treating at the Heritage at The Plains at Parish Homestead, where it doesn't matter what Mother Nature is doing from 3pm to 5pm!! There are so many goodies waiting for you from end to end your bag will be full. Please brighten our day and stop by. We will be looking for you.

PS when coming and going down the long driveway to our communities, do not forget to look for pumpkins on the doors of the patio houses. They will have treats for you as well.

Staff & residents celebrated Assisted Living week by sporting our new purple shades. Staff were given thoughtful gifts such these and tasty donuts as a small token of appreciation for all they do!!

This month, some of the folks on AL, have been spending some time on the back patio, Admiring the beautiful flowers in our new raised garden beds. Even had Creamsicle smoothies..they were delicious ! On AL, we made cupcakes for the birthday Tea this month. After enjoying our cupcakes, we had a sing-along (amongst some our favorite activities). Per many residents request, Martha from Glimmer Glass move managers brought Matt Riley back to entertain for us and she even brought some goodies for coffee hour. Thank you Martha & Matt. This was throughly enjoyed by all ! A few of the residents on IL went for a trip to Polar Bear ice cream parlor. What a delicious treat..especially with the summer heat we've been experiencing.

What's better than starting your day out with this face greeting you?? Poppy always brings smiles to us whenever she and Tom visit. We always will stop whatever we are doing as she is the sweetest dog, and the best therapy around (works for treats). Come see what makes this community so special. Playing Bingo with our friends on Magnolia Trails is one of the highlights of the month. This time, we enjoyed copycat Wendy's frosty shakes after Bingo... and were they ever tasty ! Went outback on the patio for some fresh air. A couple of us created our own flower bouquet masterpieces to hang on our wall.

Hello everybody! Hope everyone is having a great week. This week we decided to try a new recipe oat granola bites! While we are waiting to taste the bites (they have to be refrigerated for a while) we tried making moving pictures. If you fold them just right and turn them back and forth, they look like they are moving. Kind of cool to see. Stop by and see how we can create moments of joy in your love's one day. We started July off with participating in the 4th of July parade. What Beautiful day it was and fun was had by all. Three residents rode in one of our vans with Tim(maintenance ) escorting them. Staff & some of their little ones walked behind passing out treats to children watching the parade. We really enjoy word games so played "What's the scoop" We split up into 2 teams. News titles were read and players had to determine whether these titles were True or False. We made decorations for our tree. Never know the fun we'll have especially at Happy Hour. From reminiscing, Trivia and seeing how many people can fit in one chair 😀

Anna often dreamed of returning to her homeland of Germany. The Good Tree team saw how deeply she was connected to her German roots, so they decided to bring a piece of Germany to her. They prepared goulash and other traditional German dishes, creating a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and nostalgia. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate Anna’s heritage, sharing stories and learning more about German customs.

Last week, our Magnolia Trails communities transformed the longest day of the year into a truly meaningful occasion.

With barbeques, music, memory walks, and vibrant purple celebrations, every moment paid tribute to those impacted by Alzheimer’s and highlighted the strength of human connection.

Autumn Glen celebrated the 70th wedding anniversary of Bill and Mary Lou this week. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple reflected on decades of memories through cherished photos and enjoyed a celebratory cake and a beautiful flower arrangement to honor the occasion. It was a big week for Billy, a resident of The Waterford at Mesquite. In honor of Father’s Day, the local mayor visited the community to recognize Billy as the oldest father living in Mesquite! Just a few days later, Billy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter and plenty of birthday cake. Billy’s milestone serves as an inspiration to everyone in the community.

John, a Magnolia Trails resident at Georgetowne Place, grew up on a farm and spent his childhood driving tractors and milking cows. He often shared these fond memories, so the team knew exactly what would make the perfect Tree of Dreams by bringing him back to the farm! With his daughter and great-grandson in tow, John was thrilled to see how things have changed and deeply grateful for the experience. Great job, team!

The Waterford at Round Rock worked with resident Becky’s daughter to give her the surprise of a lifetime by restoring their family car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. Filled with memories of family vacations and drives with her late husband, Becky’s eyes filled with tears. The moment she saw the fully restored Mustang, she was overcome with emotion and gratitude. What a beautiful gift and a reminder of cherished memories!
