The next Death Cafe facilitated by our UCNBA group will be held March 3, 2024 from 12pm to 1:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Oneonta on 12 Ford Avenue in Oneonta, NY. The event is open to the public.

Bob Brzozowski, Jim Mills, Karen Palmer, and Anna Rutenbeck, the founders of the UCNBA, will give the Sunday July 9 service at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Oneonta (UUSO), 12 Ford Avenue.

The theme of the service is, of course, natural burial and is part of the UUSO congregation’s Green Sanctuary initiative. The main speaker will be UCNBA chair Anna Rutenbeck. Following the service there will be a social hour and time for informal conversation on the topic. All are welcome to attend the service and/or the social hour/discussion.

The UCNBA will be hosting Delaware County's first ever Death Cafe at Bushel Collective in Delhi on March 26. The Death Café is not an informational event but an opportunity to come together and ask questions, share stories, and explore curiosities you might have about death and dying. A big update: we have received our determination letter from the IRS and have officially been designated a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This is great news! We will soon be introducing memberships. Memberships will cost $20 per year and dues will support the organization and our mission, while entitling members to regular meetings. We aren't ready to begin accepting money quite yet, but we will update here and on our mailing list when we are. Thank you for your support! Please let us know if you have any questions.
