It's Pride Month! At The Arc Otsego, inclusion is paramount to the work we do, and that encompasses all identities.

We start by celebrating the work of Marsha P. Johnson, one of the most prominent gay rights figures of the 1960s and 70s. She engaged with the resistance at Stonewall Inn in 1969. She also founded "Street Transvestite Action Revolution" (STAR) which sheltered young trans kids who were shunned by their families.

This Pride Month, we'll be sharing more about prominent figures in the LGBTQIA+ Community - follow along with us.

AND - come see us this weekend at Otsego Pride Alliance PrideFest 2026 a Celebration of PRIDE: Power, Resistance, Intersectionality, Dignity, Existence! in Neahwa Park - we will have activities for kids and families, and information on resources for the I/DD Community.

Our Site-Based PreVoc folks helped beautify Creekside Industries with some gardening and landscaping work this week - they learned some new skills and helped bring some curb appeal!

Over the last two weeks, leaders from across the agency joined together for a Leadership Development Series with Globe North. Participants explored conversations and training around communication, team effectiveness, innovation, development and more. We were excited to have Gregory with us, and look forward to continued conversations around leadership development!

Our message is clear: funding for the I/DD care system must keep pace with demand. A full 4% TII is essential to sustain services, support staff, and ensure providers can continue to meet the needs of New Yorkers with I/DD.

I/DD providers continue to face detrimental staffing shortages and rising operating costs.
