Así es, según la Autoridad de Salud de Oregón (OHA), 6 de cada 10 residentes de Oregón nunca se han hecho pruebas de detección del VIH. Si bien no todos corren un riesgo elevado de contraer el VIH, se recomienda que TODOS se hagan la prueba al menos una vez.

That's right, according to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), 6 in 10 Oregon residents have never been screened for HIV. While not everyone is going to be at an elevated risk of acquiring HIV, it is recommended that EVERYONE gets tested at least once.

"La amplia evidencia clínica de los últimos años ha confirmado la validez científica del concepto VIH indetectable=intransmisible (U=U). U=U significa que las personas que viven con el VIH y que mantienen una carga viral indetectable, lograda a través del uso constante de la terapia antirretroviral (TAR) según lo prescrito, no pueden transmitir sexualmente el virus a otros. Esto hace que el tratamiento del VIH sea una estrategia altamente eficaz en el esfuerzo más amplio para prevenir la transmisión".

Extensive clinical evidence in recent years has confirmed the scientific validity of Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U). U=U means that individuals living with HIV who maintain an undetectable viral load—achieved through consistent use of antiretroviral therapy (ART) as prescribed—cannot sexually transmit the virus to others. This makes HIV treatment a highly effective strategy in the broader effort to prevent transmission, hence the phrase, "Treatment as Prevention."
