Silliman University College of Nursing Alumni Association International, Inc (SUCNAAI) was created in January 2007 by a group of SUCN alumni and friends who are motivated and inspired by Dr. Jean Yan to organize overseas SUCN alumnae in finding ways in giving back to the College of Nursing and Alma Matter. SUCNAAI made its debut at the 2007 Tipon Silliman in Toronto at a special meeting with the SU President, Dr. Ben Malayang. The organization has a multifaceted goals centered on the support of the SUCN’s educational program. The vision of SUCNAAI is to create a global community of SUCN alumni who are actively engaged in Silliman University's utilization of knowledge, competence and faith to improve the health of people at home and worldwide.
At present, SUCNAAI initiated the POLEN (Program of Leadership Excellence in Nursing) Program of the University. POLEN explores and opens new opportunities for nursing leaders to address emerging challenges and imperatives of nursing education. SUCN through POLEN aims to be a leader in cutting edge research, nursing education and health policy development to improve health outcomes. Every year, SUCNAAI provides educational program to local and international nurses through Research Boot Camps and Balik Talents in the Philippines and in the USA. SUCNAAI aims to develop current and future nurse leaders who can make a difference in health at national and global levels.
