Hello Everyone,
I hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe during this time. I just wanted to provide an update to my clients regarding my “back to work strategy”.
I have now finally received all the required PPE, as identified by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and I am ready to start booking appointments. I will be contacting those individuals who have reached out during the COVID 19 shut down, and I’m opening up appointment slots starting Monday, June 22nd.
There have been some modifications to how my business will run moving forward, including switching to an online program to manage bookings, a slight price increase for the first time in eight years (as described below), and also the attire that I’m now required to wear.
Moving forward, you will see me wearing a mask as well as a face shield/ goggles. My cleaning protocols have also increased due to COVID 19, so I will now need a little more time to set up and tear down my equipment. Please note that I will now require “larger than normal” gaps between appointments to ensure that all cleaning and sanitization is done thoroughly, therefore your standard appointment time slots that you’re accustom to may need to be adjusted due to appointment bookings.
On a positive note, I have taken this time off to explore new, paperless methods to run my business. Starting now, Durham’s Cloud Nine Massage Therapy has moved to a digital platform. You will now have access to my schedule and an opportunity to book your own appointments online. Please understand that I will still need to “accept” all appointments booked online, but this transition allows for my Clients to have better access to my schedule of availability. Automatic reminders for appointments will also be generated through this program, along with paperless health history forms.
With this new platform you will have to fill out a new health history form before your first appointment. I understand that for some of you who have recently filled out a health history form this year, this will be duplication, but this is needed to populate your Client files. This health history form will be paperless, and no scanning or sending the completed form is necessary.
Also, all appointments for the time being will require the Client to complete a standard COVID-19 prescreening. The questionnaire will be sent out to you before your appointment, and I will call you day of to ask the prescreening questions again. Upon my arrival, you will be asked to put on your mask and unlock the door. Patient’s will be required to wear their mask for the duration of the treatment.
At this time, I’d like to notify my Clients that there has been a flat fee increase of $5 to each of my massage services. Unfortunately, I will also be suspending all my clinic appointments, which includes the use of hot stones, until sanitization protocols are relaxed. Similarly, spa days will be suspended to ensure that the safety of my clients and myself is maintained during scheduled appointments.
