Today I’m working with a client using the VOCIC Floor Lift Chair, and we’re using it in a way most people don’t even think about.
Instead of getting up from the floor, we’re actually using it to safely lower her seat height until we find the lowest point she can stand from independently.
She has been struggling to stand up from her soft couch at home and couldn’t get out of low chairs without help. So today, we progressively lowered the lift chair — inch by inch — until we reached 14 inches from the floor, and she was able to stand up on her own without assistance.
This is not just a chair for emergencies.
It’s also a training tool.
It helps build the exact strength you need in your hips, thighs, and core to get up from low surfaces safely.
When someone can stand from a low position, almost everything else becomes easier:
• Getting off the couch
• Getting out of bed
• Standing from a toilet
• Getting up from the floor
• Using low chairs in restaurants
Most strength improvements happen when we challenge the right muscles at the right depth — and this chair gives us a safe way to find that point without risking injury or falls.
If you or someone you love is having difficulty getting up from low surfaces, this might be the most important tool to have in the home.
