No, absolutely not. I have not retired yet. The Covid edicts that were declared by our Governor in 2020, stating that massage was non-essential, like cosmetology struck my business big time! To stay in business, I had to cut expenses. I had a wonderful website, provided through the profession that I belonged to for over 20 years, the American Massage Therapy Association - AMTA also provided my malpractice insurance, and my Nursing malpractice insurance for providing foot care, which I have been doing since 1998, and advertising. In so doing all that, I made my services more affordable to my clients.
Also, I love teaching self care techniques to my clients, such as the 5 headache accupressure points, self massage to CURE carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other things. One of my clients from my early massage years in Rhinelander is a good example. He came into the morphed Snyder Drugs, where I worked as a clerk/RN to supplement my new massage business. He was 96 years old and had bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome and the orthopedic surgeon said he was ineligible to have surgical repair because of his bad heart. He was told to come to our store to buy splints. I told him that I could teach him in a 15 minute session how to cure it. He came back 2 weeks later, CURED. He wrote a recommendation for my services on the back of my business card. Back then, I did not know how I could make that public. I am looking at it now. "If you are suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, please call Karen White (now Wiesen), and enroll in her therapy program. You may avoid surgery. I was pleasantly surprised. You will be too. DS"
So, headache, sore muscles, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.
