Bit by Bit

Bit by Bit We love our students, volunteers and horses! Bit by Bit is a PATH Int'l-affiliated therapeutic horseback riding program.

Started in 1997 by Linda Barron on the campus of Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, Bit by Bit began as a way to make a difference in the lives of special needs individuals through equine therapy. Over the years, the program has relocated to Oologah, Oklahoma and expanded to serve 75 students. One thing hasn't changed: the commitment to making a difference in riders' lives. This is possible thanks to over fifty volunteers, a dozen horses, and generous support from donors. Together, we CAN make strides for those with special needs!

We are 2 weeks away from our annual fundraiser for Bit By Bit. If you ever wanted to donate to a worthy cause this is the place! Therapeutic riding for children with disabilities and first responders volunteering their time to help both riders and horses, it's literally the most magical place ever. We would love for you to come out and see what we are all about. Come join us for a Yellowstone kind of night. There will be an delicious chuckwagon steak dinner, live music by Darla McGuire Brantley, an auction and live painting by Kouri Art that will be auctioned off at the end of the night, as well as a wonderful horse demonstration with our amazing horses and riders to show everyone just some of the magic that happens at Bit by Bit. Oklahoma's own Travis Meyer / News On 6 will be our emcee for the evening. All proceeds will go to helping our students and allowing us to continue our mission of serving individuals with disabilities and those facing challenges in their lives.💗🙏🏽💗🙏🏽💗

“There is nothing as healing and unconditional as the love horses can show in their eyes, or as they are touched and cared for by humans,” says Linda Barron, founder

Lots of laughs and big smiles today at our early Valentines Day event at Bit by Bit

Oklahoma leaders opened their hearts to volunteer their time and work with special needs children and horses.

State Representative Tammy Pevehouse Townley, Tulsa County Commissioner Stan Sallee, Cherokee Nation Councilor Joe Deere, Community Care Regional Director, Michael Amberg, Troop B Commander Jack Choate all toured our facility, learned about the benefits of equine therapy and worked with our amazing students and volunteers from Tulsa Fire and Broken Arrow Police Department.

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to help and support Bit by Bit today. Thank you to our incredible instructors and staff, who make everything run smoothly and events like this possible.

Spring 2023 Week 1 is in the books- we are so glad to see our rider friends again!

Rider Tyler had a great lesson working on balance, core strength and fine motor skills- in addition to identifying colors and numbers. He is showing great trust in his instructor, Paize, and has even started taking both hands off the saddle horn to work on his activities. Great job Tyler!

Our Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lessons have a need for volunteers- give us a call or email us at volunteer@bitbybitok.org if you would like to join in on the fun!
