This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators week!

Join us in saying THANK YOU as we recognize the men and women with the calm and steady voices amidst the chaos, the unseen heroes of emergency response.

911 dispatchers are the lifeline for Police, Fire, and EMS emergency response, taking, processing, and dispatching incoming calls for service for over 100,000 residents in Rogers County alone. In addition to the 911 emergency lines and non-emergency lines answered 24/7/365, they provide other first responders with critical life saving information and prioritize safety protocols for all of us on the other side of the radio.

We see you, and we appreciate your dedication and professionalism!

EMS WEEK MAY 17- MAY 23

🚑❤️ Support Your Local First Responders – Oologah Community Call to Action ❤️🚑

Our first responders show up for us every single day—through emergencies, long shifts, and the moments when our community needs them most. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

We’re reaching out to local Oologah businesses, restaurants, and community members to help support these hardworking individuals by donating meals or contributing funds to help provide meals.

🍽️ How you can help:
• Donate a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) for our crews
• Provide catering or gift cards
• Make a monetary donation—every dollar goes directly toward feeding our first responders

Whether it’s a one-time contribution or something ongoing, every bit of support makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.

💙 Let’s come together as a community and take care of those who take care of us.

If you’re interested in donating or partnering with us, please comment below or send us a message—we’d love to connect!

When we lose an hour of sleep during Daylight Saving Time, it’s common to feel more tired and less focused. This weekend, take it slow — especially when driving or handling tasks that require attention. A little extra caution goes a long way when your body is still adjusting. Stay alert and stay safe!

Pets Halloween safety 🧡🐾🖤

🎃Put your candy in a safe place.
Chocolate and some artificial sweeteners can be deadly for pets.
Always make sure to keep your pet treats separate from the human treats.

🎃Keep them on a leash
If your dog is joining your family trick-or-treating, it’s important to keep them close, it’s not the same as an everyday walk.

🎃Make sure they have up-to-date ID tags on their collar. When dogs are scared they tend to run. (Cats tend to hide & may even get into tight places to feel safe)

🎃Consider their anxiety with the doorbell or knocking.
If your dog gets anxiety about the doorbell ringing and the door opening and closing, put them in their secure, safe space away from the door. Give them their favorite pillow, blanket or toy, or an enrichment game, kong, or other treat toy. Maybe play some soft spa music or just the TV on in the room with them.

(Some pets may not normally be anxious from the doorbell or knocking, but with it happening over and over, or with the kids in costumes behind the door yelling trick-or-treat… They may become a little more anxious than normal - so just be aware)

🎃Careful with pet costumes, they may look cute but could be uncomfortable, tight, pinching or constricting their sight, or breathing.
