Welcome Beatrice Casiano Allen as she was recently named Director of Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind’s (AIDB) Opelika Regional Center. In this role, Allen will oversee programs and services for individuals who are Deaf, Blind, DeafBlind, and multi-disabled across East Alabama, ensuring access to education, employment, and independent living opportunities while strengthening community partnerships.
Allen joined AIDB in 2023 as a Job Developer at the Opelika Regional Center, where she helped consumers secure meaningful employment and promoted inclusion in the workforce. She brings a wealth of leadership experience from both nonprofit and social service organizations.
“I am deeply honored to serve as the new Director of the AIDB Opelika Regional Center,” said Allen. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to building on the strong foundation that has been laid. It is a privilege to join such a dedicated team in continuing AIDB’s mission of empowering individuals through inclusive, compassionate, and life-changing services. I am excited for the work ahead and committed to supporting our staff, consumers, and community with integrity and heart.”
In addition to her work with AIDB, Allen serves as Executive Director of The Columbus Dream Center in Columbus, Georgia, where she leads outreach initiatives that provide essential resources and services to families. She is also the founder of Passion 4 Latinas, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women through leadership development and educational enrichment.
Her career includes leadership roles as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Chattahoochee Valley and as Director of Grants and Foundations for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley. She also has experience as a mental health counselor in Connecticut. Allen holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business from Albertus Magnus College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Troy University.

The AIDB Opelika Regional Center is part of AIDB’s statewide network of 10 regional centers, offering resources, training, and advocacy to individuals and families while promoting accessibility, opportunity, and independence.
