Diabetes and Nutrition Center of EAMC

The Diabetes and Nutrition Center (DANC) of EAMC is here to provide you with up to date information on diabetes and nutrition.

Our center consists of a multi-disciplinary staff including dietitians, nurses, and exercise physiologists. A wide range of services are provided: group classes for diabetes, individual counseling for diabetes and nutrition, gestational diabetes and insulin pump instruction. Clients served: Adults and children from the community and patients in the hospital.

As we close out the year 2025, we reflect on one of our favorite days of the year- the Swing for Diabetes Annual Golf Tournament! We had an incredible turnout this year and were able to raise more than $25,000! This money will be used to provide diabetes education and supplies to those who may need assistance. We are so blessed to have a such a generous community around us!

Did you know that the American Diabetes Association has a recipe website where you can find delicious glucose friendly recipes, plan your weekly meals, and even create a grocery list!

You can try some new fun things like this Latin Baked Chicken and Kale Apple Slaw! Add some beans for extra fiber and protein and you’ve got yourself a delicious well balanced dinner!

Fiber is the key to amazing gut health, blood sugar regulation, and feelings of fullness and satisfaction with meals! It can seem daunting to meet the 25-38 g fiber/day recs, BUT we’ve got a hack for you! Try a fiber focused smoothie for breakfast! We promise you don’t taste the beans 😅

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month! Our diabetes care and education specialists spent some time in the EAMC cafeteria today educating folks on healthy eating, exercise, and carbohydrates!

EAH employees get to participate in a Bingo challenge encouraging healthy habits and increasing diabetes awareness! Once you complete 5 in a row on your Bingo card, drop it in our mailbox in the hospital or email us a copy to diabetesandnutritioncenter.org! At the end of the month we will draw THREE winners of a prize!
