So thankful that Dr Forbess, Dr Ali and so many off duty medical personnel were on the beach that day. The outcome would certainly have been different, we are so thankful that Lulu made it and is thriving, she is one of the bravest girls we know! 💜
The official news came my way yesterday, and in my opinion, the magazine couldn’t have made a better choice:
“Southern Living” has named Mountain Brook, AL’s Lulu Gribbin the “2025 Southerner Of The Year”!
Each year, the magazine honors southerners who are making a difference in the world, and this 17-year-old fills the bill!
Since Lulu lost her left hand and right leg in bull shark attack in June of 2024, Lulu has worked hard to pass Lulu’s Law at the state and federal levels- it keeps beachgoers safe from shark attacks.
Lulu has also helped create the Lulu Strong Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of people with limb deficiencies.
Lulu has also become an accomplished adaptive golfer and water skier, all the while still finding time to be a regular teenager.
I’ve come to know Lulu well- in fact next week Lulu will join me and special guest James Spann on The Good Company Podcast
Until then, please congratulate Lulu on this amazing honor, and give your best to Lulu’s parents Joe and Ann Blair and siblings Ellie, Tripp and Maggie.
