Today, the team at Accardi Clinical Pharmacy joins our community in a solemn moment of remembrance. We pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication are the foundation of the freedoms we cherish today.

As we spend time with our families and neighbors this holiday, we keep those who served, and the families they left behind, in our hearts and thoughts.

Dr. Roger believes that kindness is often just as therapeutic as the medicine we dispense. Our patients aren't visiting us because they're having a great day, usually, something is wrong. Absolutely. Swallowing large pills can be a major barrier to staying consistent with your health. For many medications, we can compound an oral disintegrating tablet (ODT).

These are very small, sugar-based tablets that dissolve right on your tongue. Because the medicine is absorbed through the lining of your mouth, it hits your system quickly and bypasses the liver's "first pass." It’s a faster, gentler way to get your full dose without the struggle of swallowing.

We believe in a "relationship-first" business model. That means being straight with you about pricing. If you find a lower, honest price at another pharmacy for a cash prescription, come talk to us.

Within reason, we will do our best to match it. We would much rather keep you as a healthy, happy patient than lose you to a chain that uses "teaser" prices to get you in the door. If we can keep the lights on and help you save money, we call that a success.

Just remember...nothing is ever "free".

This is a frustrating situation, but you have options. Many times, insurance companies have a "preferred" list called a formulary. If your brand isn't on it, we can work with your doctor to find a generic or a similar drug in the same class that is covered.

If there isn't a good alternative, we can look into the cash price. You might be surprised to find that our cash price is occasionally lower than a high insurance copay anyway! We are here to make sure the cost doesn't stand between you and your health.

We hear this often! Sometimes, finding the "therapeutic window" is a process of starting low and slow to see how your body reacts. If your doctor gave you a "raise" on your dosage, it’s usually because they want to reach the optimal level where the medication provides the most benefit with the fewest side effects.

Even if it feels like a lot to manage, remember that fine-tuning your treatment is a sign of progress. A win is a win!

Yes, within reason. This is a relationship business, and we value the trust our neighbors place in us.

Chains often use "loss leaders", one very low price to lure you in so you move all your prescriptions, while charging more for other items. We’d rather be straight with you. If we can match a fair price and still keep the lights on, we will.

Ever wondered what "Delayed Release" actually means on your prescription bottle? 💊
As Dr. Roger explains, some medications shouldn't dissolve in the acidic environment of the stomach because they might get destroyed or cause irritation. Instead, these tablets wait until they reach the upper small intestine (the duodenum) before they begin to activate.

This clever design protects your stomach and ensures the medication gets exactly where it needs to go to be most effective.

🎤 Question: "If my insurance copay is higher than the cash price, can I just pay cash?"

The short answer: Today, yes! For a long time, "gag rules" prevented pharmacists from telling you if the cash price was lower than your copay, but those rules have changed.

If your copay is $50 but the true cash price is only $12, we are allowed to tell you. We’ve done this many times because our goal isn’t to feed the insurance system, it’s to get you your medication at a fair price.

Always feel free to ask us: "Is there a better cash price for this?"
