Cooking With Love

When my boys were young, being in the kitchen felt like an impossible task. Tending to their needs, and my challenges with timing and following a recipe, created the perfect storm for what felt like failure.

Now, that I have more time to spend in the kitchen, I delight in the opportunity to produce tasty, nutritious, and satisfying meals for us.

Try This Simple Protein Granola

to add a tiny crunch to your protein fiber rich , grounding breakfast.

Ingredients:
3 cups protein oats
1/2 cup chopped mixed nuts
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
3 tbs ground flax/chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 cup melted coconut oil

1. Preheat Oven 325 degrees
2. Mix oats, nuts, seeds, flax/chia seeds in a bowl
3. Press down on baking sheet
4. Drizzle with oil/vanilla mixture
5. Bake 20-25 min or until golden brown
6. Sprinkle with Sea Salt & Cinnamon

Enjoy over top your favorite protein rich yogurt and berries.

More important than the test, is the love is conveys to my boys for taking the time to make something from scratch.

F O O D

is medicine. I spent my life afraid of food.

Because of my unhealthy relationship with food, I would often snack rather than create nourishing meals.

When I began my yoga training, I felt this sense of compassion for where my unhealthy habits came from, and I began to slowly let change take place:

I created a healthy mindset around food:
“I eat to fuel my body, and create health”

I began researching how to create nutrient dense meals.

I stocked my cabinet’s & refrigerator with these foods & discarded foods that no longer serve my wellbeing.

I fell in love with cooking at home, all the time, realizing it’s an art, and an enjoyable experience much like finishing a hard workout.

These recipes are ones I came up with on the fly based on principles of TCM to heal my adrenal overload and liver. Also, because of my familial history of dementia, I’ve cut out sugar & alcohol to create the optimal environment for my brain and neurological system.

This week. . .

we made the difficult decision to “take a break” from teaching classes.

FACT: Our business has not been successful at bringing in income.

The BAD. Right?

Hmm…

2 years of pushing through.

2 years of getting stronger.

2 years of developing lifelong friendships.

Hardly, BAD in my resilient mind.

What you see on IG are REAL people, doing the best they can.

If I’ve learned anything in the past 2 years…

Just showing up.

Giving your best.

With a kind, caring, loving heart.

Some may stay & support you.

Some may leave.

But, you can be sure that it is always worth it ♥️

It’s that time of year…

Back to School.

Back to Sports.

This time of year demands a lot of little minds & bodies!

It is SO important that kids learn how to train safely for their sports and sitting for longer periods of the day.

so every morning, my oldest (my youngest has no desire yet 😝) performs a strengthening routine.

This trains his body out of the repetition of sports where most injuries happen.

It trains:

- Posture
- Technique
- Mental Focus
- Coordination
- Discipline

The day of the week you set the BEST of intentions…

even if THIS WEEK:

you miss a workout

eat take out more than you meal prep

lose it on your partner…

NOT a FAILURE.

I listen to those negative voices WAY more

than I NEED to…
