🧠 CR TrayBite: Creative Thinking Meets Cutting-Edge Tech 🧠

Another creative day at Creative Restorations — where we don’t just follow workflows, we invent better ones.

A patient lost his immediate denture made two years ago. The doctor called asking what we needed to remake it. But thanks to how we archive and organize our CAD data, we already had everything we needed. 💾✨

Instead of starting from scratch, we pulled up the original digital denture and designed a custom CR tray directly from it — saving time and improving accuracy. This custom tray allowed the doctor to capture bite registration and a reline impression in one step.

đź’ˇ Bonus: We added 1mm tissue stops to ensure uniform thickness of impression material across the arch.

This kind of work isn’t luck — it’s decades of experience + modern technology + creative problem-solving. Most labs haven’t figured this out yet. But we have.

🎉 Congratulations Marco Martinovic winner of our “Guess What It’s For?” challenge!
You nailed it! 🧠💡
If you’d like a custom set of your own, shoot me a DM — we’ll get you dialed in with a solution made just for you. 👌
Thank you Cary Berdy for always pushing me.

ScrewEase Process

Step1. Scan the top of your open tray impression coping.
Step2. Create a case in designer for a Crown.(Name each one according to size. NP,RP,WP, or whatever relates to your implant system).
Step3. Design and print away.

Tips:
A little bit of rope wax on the side of the extended screw. Not on the top covering the hex. This gives it a little bit more security so not to fall off while trying to take the impression.

How the ScrewEase got started

Dr. Berdy called me telling me he needed a solution for his open tray impression copings. He’s always is having to dig for his screws. So we thought if we could get something to stick out of the impression tray we could preserve that space and have clear access to the screw. Within five minutes we are on version 3.65. This is what we came up with and we are going to use them on live cases to check actual functionality. we will update with a new post and share chairside pictures. Coming soon to an office near you.

Congratulations to the winner of the “Guess what it is for?” If you would like me to make you a custom set, please DM me and we can make it happen.

If any of you dentist out there, think that this was Creative. You should try doing some work with us. with a less than 1% remake factor, and problem-solving skills beyond the average. We can definitely help make your cases run smooth.

Dental friends. Today is the day someone figures it out. if no one guesses after these images are posted then I will let you know what they are for. Last tip:Remove the tooth and your screw shall be set loose It’s not a crown. It’s not a coping. It definitely isn’t a tiny lightsaber. But it just might save your fingers, your sanity, and your impression.

A huge thank you to Stephanie Marie and Amy Helayel from Zest Masters for an incredible evening of education and insight.

We explored the evolution of dentures—from the same outdated techniques still used in many labs today (unchanged for over 150 years) to the cutting-edge, efficient process we use at Creative Restorations in 2025.

Here’s the truth: most labs may have the latest technology, but they don’t truly understand how to use it to improve patient outcomes. They continue to follow the same old steps, producing restorations that fall short of what’s possible.

If you’re using a lab like that, ask yourself: What kind of product am I really putting in my patient’s mouth?

With the combined power of Zest’s fixed and removable solutions and our advanced workflow, we’re creating affordable full-arch options that give more patients access to life-changing care—without compromise.

VENEERED FLEX PARTIAL
We did something really cool with a flex partial. we sent the try in out to be processed into flex. 7 and 10 got really small after the flex processing and looked not so good. flex clasping high on the teeth and everything not looking so good. I decided to prep the already attached teeth like a veneer and lengthen the neck prep into the flex area. I scanned the partial and milled 2 veneers to bond to the partial. worked out great. she is bleaching to an A1 to help color blend. she is very young and has a tough situation currently being worked on. We hope to be a part of this young woman’s journey to correcting her situation. veneering a flex partial was definitely outside the box. Could this be an added step for much better results?
