Measles cases have been reported nationwide, including here in Florida.

Our own Dr. Shalika Katugaha, system director of Infectious Diseases, answers common questions about measles, explains the importance of the MMR vaccine, and shares how parents can help protect their children — especially babies under age 1 who are not yet eligible for vaccination.

If you’re unsure of your immunization status, your primary care physician can order a simple blood test to determine whether you’re immune to all three components of the MMR vaccine.
