This patient was told by a franchise dental office that the only choice he had was to get several implants to fix his upper teeth for $20,000. We were able to remove all hopeless teeth and provide an upper denture and a temporary lower partial denture before he moved out of state for around $6,000. He was grateful that he would be able to make his start with a smile he could afford.

An 80 year old gentleman came to me after he had an appointment with his old dentist who was going to crown his upper front two teeth. The dentist gave him an injection then left him for 45minutes. He had enough and left. After getting a referral from one of my patients, I said I believe we should try filling the areas that have decay and reshaping the one tooth that appears too long. He left very pleased.

A colleague of mine recently suffered a heart attack while at an anesthesia conference at a Marriott in Miami. He survived by having CPR started immediately. He later found out that that Marriott did not have an AED (automated external defibrillator) and he also learned that a corporate attorney recommended not to have AED devices in Marriott hotels. Dental offices in Florida must have them by law.
