Three Years Clear! A Colonoscopy Victory and a Message of Hope! What an incredible day! My third-year colonoscopy results are in, and I am officially still all clear from Stage IV colorectal cancer! This marks three amazing years in remission, and I couldn’t be more grateful. My incredible wife was right by my side, supporting me through the anxiety, and reminding me to practice what I preach: control the controllables, don’t go it alone, and give it up to God. That’s exactly what I did, and I woke up to this fantastic news! This journey has reinforced that no matter what you’ve been told, never give up hope. We’ve heard so many inspiring stories from fellow survivors, and we have an entire Survivor Series playlist dedicated to their journeys right here on our channel. I encourage you all to check it out! Thank you to everyone for your unwavering support. Your encouragement means the world. What are your thoughts, questions, or comments? Your Cancer Journey Needs a Battle Buddy: Don't Go It Alone! When you're facing cancer, it's easy to feel isolated, like you're on an island. But I'm here to tell you, strength is in numbers! Having a "battle buddy" during my own cancer journey has been absolutely essential, and I want to give a massive shout-out to three incredible individuals who proved that you don't have to fight alone:First, to a Marine named Ansil, who was right there for me the day I was diagnosed. His presence and support were invaluable during one of the toughest moments of my life. Then there's Gary, a United States Navy veteran and fellow cancer survivor. Gary not only shared crucial tips during my initial battle but is now facing the fight again with incredible courage. His resilience is truly inspiring. And finally, to Don, another amazing cancer survivor who armed me with vital tips for talking to my doctors, managing nausea, and cultivating a positive mindset. Don has also battled cancer more than once and emerged victorious, showing me what true strength looks like. These individuals, who aren't family by blood but are now my brothers, provided a unique kind of support. It allowed me to keep my home a sanctuary of peace while having a safe space to vent, learn, and grow with people who truly understood. You don't need to go through this alone. Find your battle buddy, someone who gets it, who can listen, and who can offer wisdom from their own experience. It makes all the difference. What are your thoughts, questions, or comments? What I Did When Cancer Hit
One of the top questions I get asked since my cancer diagnosis in 2022 is, "What did you do?" When you're hit with that news, it feels like everything changes, and you're searching for answers. Here are just a few of the things I focused on:First, I leaned heavily into my faith and started talking to God more. For me, prayer became a constant source of comfort and strength. Second, I connected with a functional medicine doctor to explore dietary changes and supplements, always coordinating everything with my oncologist to ensure no weird interactions or adverse reactions with my medications. We also ended up adding two amazing dogs to our family – their unconditional love brought so much joy and companionship. I started wearing hats more to protect myself from the sun's rays. And crucially, I made a conscious effort to fill my mind with good things, reading great books and surrounding myself with positive people. This is just the start of my journey, and these shifts made a profound difference in my fight. If you've been diagnosed with cancer, what's one thing you did that truly helped you in your fight or with your mindset? Share your insights and experiences in the comments below! Let's empower each other.

When you're diagnosed with cancer, it seems like everyone has advice. While well-intentioned, it's crucial to be incredibly careful about who you listen to.
* Food Fables vs. Facts: I received countless suggestions about what to eat and what to avoid. But here's the critical truth: your diet needs depend entirely on your specific cancer diagnosis. As a Stage 4 colorectal cancer survivor, my GI tract was directly affected. Eating certain foods could cause significant pain and gas. That's why it's paramount to talk to your oncology team and your dietitian. They can provide personalized, evidence-based nutritional guidance tailored to your unique needs. Don't let generic advice cause you unnecessary discomfort or compromise your treatment plan.
* Supplement Scrutiny: The internet is full of recommendations for supplements and "miracle cures." While some might seem appealing, many can interfere with your treatment or cause adverse effects. I always brought any supplement suggestions to my oncology team for their professional opinion. Your health is too important to risk with unverified claims.
This is exactly why we created this channel! We want to provide a space where you can hear from caregivers, cancer fighters, and survivors who share their experiences and things they discussed with their medical teams. Our goal is to empower you with informed questions to ask your own healthcare providers, helping you find positive vibes and stay prayed up.
Don't navigate this journey alone. What's one thing you've learned to be cautious about after your diagnosis, or what question do you have for your medical team? Share your thoughts below!

Take a deep breath. Here are three quick things to remember as you navigate this new path: * Don't freak out. It's natural to feel overwhelmed, scared, or even angry. Allow yourself to feel those emotions, but remember that a diagnosis is not a defeat. It's a new chapter, and you have more strength than you know. As a Stage 4 colorectal cancer survivor, I understand the initial shock, but I also know that clarity and a plan will follow. * Talk to someone. Seriously, you might be a conversation away from a breakthrough. Whether it's a trusted friend, family member, therapist, or another survivor, sharing your thoughts and fears can lighten the load and provide new perspectives. * Join our channel! We're building a community where cancer fighters, warriors, and survivors share their tips, insights, and encouragement. You don't have to go through this alone. What's one question you have or one piece of advice you'd offer to someone newly diagnosed? Feeling like you're in a tough spot? I get it. Life throws punches, and sometimes they land hard. But here's the thing: you've already won today just by waking up. Every single day you open your eyes is a victory, especially when you're battling through challenges.
And here's another powerful thing you can do: share your story. There's immense strength and healing in vulnerability. Your journey, your struggles, and your triumphs can inspire someone who feels alone. As a cancer survivor, I know firsthand the power of sharing my experiences – it not only helps me, but it often helps others find their own strength.
