Today we were invited to present our massage therapy program to the amazing students in anatomy and physiology classes at Bridge City High School. As a side, we were also able to squeeze in a few hours of chair massages for the staff and faculty there.

Even more continuing education for our instructor (can you tell she’s an education snob?) The cohort for this coming fall is going to be so lucky!

So many new and exciting modalities have been studied this summer and are ready to be added in bits and pieces to our curriculum! 💆🏻 💆🏼💆🏾👊🏻👩‍🏫

When our instructors aren’t instructing, they’re the students! Summers are for continuing education: keeping abreast of all of the most important updates and advances in the massage therapy field, which in turn is passed along to our students!

Our last community service event for these two soon-to-be-graduates! Thank you to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas for allowing us to serve their nursing staff (a couple of weeks before Nurse Appreciation Week). Mr. Kris will be setting up his practice in this area in the coming months. Keep an eye out for him!

A special thank you to Amanda Moulder at Seven Stones Day Spa and Christa Patten at Prioux Chiropractic for hosting our massage students today! It was an amazing experience to speak to these two long-time therapists and compare and contrast their very different business models and specialties.

We are grateful to be graduating this cohort of students in a few weeks and that they will be sent out to such a cooperative and collaborative massage therapy community like the one in Southeast Texas!

As part of our business class this year, we are doing community outreach massages in the areas where our students will be practicing once they graduate next month.

Today: Kirbyville Elementary! Ms. Genna will be practicing “somewhere around here” (still undecided exactly where), so be looking for her in the near future Kirbyville, Newton, and Jasper!

Today, we combined with students from the LSCO Dental Assisting program to discuss signs, symptoms , and possible underlying pathologies of TMJD along with alternative treatment options for both dental and massage industries. We are grateful for collaborations like this on our campus!
