Due to impending inclement weather conditions, the City of Orangeburg will open a warming shelter to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in need. The warming shelter will be located at the City Gym, 410 Broughton Street, and will operate from Saturday, January 24 at 3:00 PM until Monday, January 26 until 12:00 Noon.

The shelter is intended to provide a safe, warm space for individuals during hazardous cold weather conditions.

Important information:

· Service animals are allowed inside the shelter.

· Other pets are not permitted and must be taken to the Orangeburg County Animal Control, 1596 Ellis Ave, for care during this period.

City officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as necessary. The City of Orangeburg encourages residents to share this information with anyone who may need shelter and to check on neighbors who may be vulnerable during cold weather.

🎶❤️ Our halls were filled with Christmas cheer! ❤️🎶

We were so happy to welcome sweet children from a local school in Orangeburg who came to sing Christmas carols for our residents. The joy and holiday spirit they shared brought so many smiles.

Moments like these highlight the power of community and the simple joys of the season. 🎄✨

Santa made a special visit to The Oaks! 🎄

A huge thank you to Gentiva Hospice for bringing Santa, gifts, and so much Christmas cheer to our residents.

A special shout-out to our amazing Activities Director, Rebecca, who brings smiles and happiness to our residents every single day. We are so grateful for you! ❤️

Our participants who attend our center sometimes need a few extra food items to get them through the month and this is why we started our food pantry last year.

You as a community came together and filled our shelves with everything from canned tuna, shelf stable milk, and even full meals like spaghetti (sauce and noodles).

Our shelves have some empty spaces and we would love to fill them up especially over the next few months with hearty food during the winter.

While out shopping for your food, grab an extra can of soup (or five) and bring them by our office. We can guarantee a senior citizen in our county will benefit from your generosity.
