HHPartners Offers Customized Healthcare Hospitality to Remedy Organizational Pain Points Using Interactive Theater

July 28, 2025. Orchard Park, New York. HHPartners, a national consulting group of veteran healthcare experts plus one Partner who is a seasoned actor, writer, director, and producer have created a healthcare hospitality service using “interactive learning” through “interactive theater”. Founding Partner, Thomas P. McNulty, M.S. recruited Dr. Connie Schroyer, an organizational psychologist from Maryland, Nancy Sheehan R.N., J.D., a healthcare attorney from New York, Dr. Cynthia Ambres, healthcare executive/entrepreneur from California, and Susan Roberts, M.S., a national, multi-disciplinary, healthcare consultant from Florida. McNulty brings a background in hospital and managed care administration, strong behavioral health experience, marketing, and media. He resides in New York.

“The idea began in 2014 when McNulty and Hertsgaard brainstormed bringing a “no heavy lifting” initiative that would unify a healthcare culture designed to address “pain points” that change as industry priorities shift. An educational seminar was held at Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York where more than 150 healthcare providers attended,” stated McNulty. Later that year, they did an “interactive play” for Vanderbilt University Medical School – both presentations were well-received. Initially, Hilbert College wanted to build a Masters program and a $500,000 grant was secured by McNulty from a local foundation, but the Dean took an out of state job and McNulty and Hertsgaard decided to shelve the project for another day. That day came after Covid-19 had such a powerful financial and staffing impact on hospitals.

When Covid-19 decimated the nation and the world, McNulty approached Hertsgaard about resurrecting the initiative. McNulty wanted to create a partner group of healthcare experts with different core skill sets such as marketing, medical, nursing, behavioral health, legal, organizational psychology, recruitment, financial, program development, and interactive theater. HHPartners was born and customized organizational services and Hertsgaard’s patented “interactive learning through interactive theater” were the catalyst to developing the play – performed by professional actors.

“An initial inquiry starts the process followed by an interview to explore current “pain points” and discussions regarding attendance, desired outcomes, data measurements, and healthcare hospitality endurance within the entire organization. Any of the Partners can return to the client to focus on a key area requiring additional support.
