FYI…prescription Leucovorin is folinic acid which is available over the counter from high quality supplement brands. But unlike a high quality supplement, this prescription form contains lactose and FD&C yellow No. 6 which is a synthetic, orange-yellow azo dye (also known as Sunset Yellow FCF) approved for use in food, drugs, and cosmetics to provide color. It is synthesized from coal tar and petroleum, creating a bright orange-yellow pigment used in products like orange-flavored beverages, chips, and medications. There are concerns about this artificial color linked to hyperactivity in children.
