🌡️ As temperatures start to rise, it’s important to remember: 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼.
Dogs and cats don’t sweat the same way we do, which means they rely on panting and limited cooling methods to regulate body temperature—and that can become overwhelming quickly in warm weather.
🔴 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Weakness or wobbliness
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Vomiting or collapse
☀️ 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲:
• Walk dogs early morning or evening (avoid peak heat)
• Always provide fresh, cool water
• Never leave pets in parked cars—even for a minute
• Avoid hot pavement (if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws)
If you suspect your pet is overheating, seek veterinary care immediately—heat stroke can become life-threatening quickly.
