Are you a headache or migraine sufferer?
Did you know?
Migraines or headaches might be starting in your gut.

Your gut and brain are closely connected. When your gut is inflamed or out of balance, it can increase inflammation, disrupt serotonin levels, and trigger migraines.

Supporting gut health can help reduce the frequency and intensity of headaches by:
✔️ Improving nutrient absorption
✔️ Lowering inflammation
✔️ Supporting hormone and neurotransmitter balance

If migraines or headaches are something you struggle with, it may be time to look beyond just your head.

Aubrie, our wellness coordinator, helps patients understand healing their gut to prevent issues like migraines, headaches and other chronic symptoms.

Call the office at 308-728-9986 to schedule a free wellness consult and see if the plan Aubrie and Dr. Staab offer is the right fit for you.

Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart. Arms rest at your sides with palms down.

Gently engage your core, press through your heels, and lift your hips toward the ceiling. Your body should form a straight line from shoulders to knees—avoid arching excessively through the low back.

Hold for 5–10 seconds while breathing steadily, then slowly lower down one vertebra at a time. Repeat 8–10 times.

Why it helps:
• Strengthens glutes and core (key stabilizers for spinal alignment)
• Supports the pelvis and reduces strain on the low back
• Counteracts prolonged sitting
• Encourages healthy lumbar positioning

Chiropractic tip: Strength creates stability—mobility + strength together help maintain alignment between adjustments.

Did you know the discs between your vertebrae are made up of about 80% water?

That means your spine LOVES hydration and movement. 🦴✨

When you move throughout the day, it helps pump nutrients into your discs — kind of like squeezing and releasing a sponge. But when we sit for long periods (desk work, driving, scrolling 👀), those discs don’t get the same healthy circulation they need.

So today’s gentle reminder:
✔️ Drink your water
✔️ Take movement breaks
✔️ Show your spine a little love

Your back will thank you!

Don’t “Lock” Your Standing Posture

Standing for long periods can strain your lower back, hips, knees, and even your neck — especially if you’re locking your knees or shifting all your weight to one side.

Try this instead:

✅ Keep a soft bend in your knees (don’t lock them)
✅ Engage your core lightly (think: gentle brace, not sucking in)
✅ Keep shoulders relaxed and stacked over hips
✅ Shift your weight every 5–10 minutes
✅ If possible, prop one foot on a small stool and alternate sides

This helps reduce pressure on your lumbar spine and keeps your muscles from fatiguing unevenly.

What does knee pain and gut health have in common?

You might be thinking there isn’t a connection between the two, but there is!

When your gut health isn’t at its best, your body likes to hold onto inflammation. This can cause your joints to hold on to excess inflammation, causing them to ache more than usual.

The good news is we have a way to help you address both your knee pain and your gut health-all at once!

If you’re wondering how we can help, call the office at 308-728-9986 to set up your consultation today!

This weeks stretch:

Seated Spinal Twist

Sit tall with both feet flat on the floor and your spine lengthened. Gently rotate your torso to one side, twisting from the mid-back, not the shoulders or neck. Keep your chest lifted, shoulders relaxed, and eyes looking in the direction of the twist. Hold while breathing deeply, then repeat on the other side.

It’s Thursday! Show us where you hydrate! 🥤

With the weather bouncing between “take me south” cold to “we don’t need coats” warmer temps, it’s important to keep up on electrolytes to help your body stay hydrated while adjusting during these temperature changes.
