This Thanksgiving and Christmas season, Serenity Hospice and Home was honored to prepare and deliver holiday meals to patients and families—both at the Serenity Home in Oregon, IL, and throughout our surrounding communities. 💙
We are deeply grateful to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation, whose generous grant made it possible to purchase all of the food supplies for these meals, and to Hazel's Cafe for the thoughtful donation of cookies that added a sweet touch to every delivery. Because of the dedication of our staff and volunteers, these meals became more than nourishment—they became moments of connection, comfort, and care.
One of our volunteers beautifully captured the spirit of Christmas meal delivery:
“Christmas gifts don’t always come in a box, bag, tin, or floral arrangement. Delivering Christmas meals on the 22nd allowed me to experience the gifts of joy, gratitude, reconnecting… The sparkle and joy in her eyes was heartwarming… Their gratitude for this thoughtful gesture from Serenity was expressed not only by words, but through the softness of their eyes.
What a beautiful, special afternoon of sharing with others. Serenity Hospice and Home allows Christmas to happen every day.”
