📣 Do you struggle with a constant lump in your throat or the feeling that food is getting stuck? You’re not alone—and there’s a way to help! 🥤🍏

The DIEZ Technique (Dysphagia Intervention for the Esophageal Zone) is a specialized approach designed to improve how you swallow by focusing on the coordination between breathing and swallowing. It’s especially helpful for managing symptoms like globus sensation, regurgitation, and frequent throat clearing—even when standard medical tests don’t find anything wrong.

How Does It Work?
The DIEZ Technique uses a combination of controlled breathing and swallowing strategies to help move food through your esophagus more effectively. By adjusting how you breathe and exhale during swallowing, this technique can help reduce the feeling of food sticking in your throat and improve overall swallowing comfort.

Who Can Benefit?
🌟 Those who experience a lump-in-the-throat feeling (globus sensation).
🌟 Individuals who deal with excess mucus, frequent burping, or regurgitation.
🌟 Anyone frustrated by swallowing discomfort despite normal test results.

If you’re ready to take the next step toward comfortable and confident swallowing, send us a message to learn more about how the DIEZ Technique can help you! 💬👇

Struggling with swallowing?

Here’s why you NEED an instrumental assessment like MBSS or FEES.

If you have dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), you might have been told to “just do exercises” or “try soft foods” But without an instrumental assessment, your treatment plan is based on guesswork—and swallowing is too important to guess.

🔍 What is an instrumental assessment?
It’s a test that allows a trained specialist to see what’s happening inside your throat when you swallow. There are two main types:

➡️ Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) – An X-ray video that shows how food and liquid move through your mouth and throat.
➡️ Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) – A small camera (scope) goes through your nose to give a clear, real-time view of your throat when swallowing.

⚠️ Why is this important?
Many swallowing problems happen inside your throat—where neither you nor your therapist can see them. If you don’t get an instrumental assessment, you might:
❌ Be doing the wrong exercises for your specific problem
❌ Be on an unnecessary diet restriction (missing out on food you could safely eat!)
❌ Continue struggling with swallowing without a clear solution

✅ With an instrumental assessment, you get a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan that actually works for YOU.

If you’ve been dealing with swallowing difficulties and haven’t had a FEES or MBSS, it might be time to advocate for yourself and ask your provider about it! 💪
