"Interpersonal Effectiveness" means communicating well, building healthy relationships, and maintaining self-respect and respect for others. If you are in relationships that leave you feeling resentment, or drained, or like you don't respect yourself, then it is likely fair to say you are lacking some "interpersonal effectiveness." There's no judgment, and we aren't blaming anyone. The fact is, many of us have relationships that are lacking, and most relationships could use improvement. Or maybe you feel lonely, not knowing how to build relationships.

In either case, our upcoming class is a great place to start. Classes start September 17th! Check out the class description here:

Interpersonal Effectiveness DBT module starting September 17/18th! We follow the big blue skills book and have 3 adult sections (in-person in Orem and online) and one teen section (in-person only). This is a class that focuses on teaching and practicing skills (we leave the deeper processing to individual sessions).

If you have clients that need these skills, please have them register or reach out if you or they have additional questions. Once they register, they will get a call to schedule an intake/orientation session. Clients are welcome to keep their individual therapist if they are not seeking comprehensive DBT.

Get your su***de and ethics CEUs. This is an amazing training that we offered in person last year and recently formatted for an NASWUT-approved on-demand training course.

Jordan K. Harmon, LCSW, is a Linehan-board certified DBT provider in Utah County. He is passionate about helping those at high risk for su***de and self-harm. This is a great training for individuals and teams that will guide you through thinking about and planning for something many of us treatment providers would rather avoid.

We have our Distress Tolerance DBT skills group starting the beginning of May.

We have a men's support group, focused on wisdom and working with emotions. Clients attending this group say the group is a safe space to be vulnerable and deal with the full range of their emotional spectrums and the various beliefs associated with these emotions. The group facilitators are compassionate, empathic, and nonjudgmental. Please share this opportunity with the men in your life.

What’s getting in the way of the relationships and life you want to create? What would happen if you were brutally honest with yourself? What would happen if you got out of your own way? We are creating a space for men to explore these questions and more.

Starting January 14th, Jordan K. Harmon, LCSW, and Kevin Kimball PsyD, will be leading group therapy for men. This is an affordable way to address issues getting in the way of the life you want to lead.

Never tried group therapy? Studies show that it can be as effective as individual therapy, and in some cases, even more powerful. Yes, it's scary. But sometimes the very thing we fear is what will bring us the most growth.

Emotion Regulation is starting in December! This is my favorite module, and I use these skills in my life to help me make sense of my automatic reactions and emotional responses.

These skills are all about increasing FREEDOM. Sometimes intense emotions lock us into a cycle that feels impossible to break out of. Emotion Regulation skills increase awareness, self-compassion, and understanding so that we can respond intentionally.

They free us to create the kind of life and relationships we want.
