After planning to be an English professor, I got into therapy when I realized I didn’t want to write papers about other people’s books for the rest of my life—I wanted to talk to people about what matters most to them. I enjoy bike rides, kayaking and putting together tinker crates with my kids. I love to find inexpensive ways to have great adventures with my family, and finding someone else’s hom

e improvement projects to help with so I can keep delaying my own. I was a foster parent for several years, have lived in Kentucky, Ohio, and California, and my favorite book is Anna Karenina. Don’t get me wrong, life has been hard, and I’ve messed up plenty of times. But I’m grateful I can live it and I am always happy to help other people find the goodness in their own lives. Life’s struggles don’t just go away or clear up on their own. I help people move toward their peak functioning: in academics, employment, and relationships. I focus on helping my clients gain the tools, the transformed perspectives, and the support they need to gain resilience so they can rise up to meet life as it is instead of hoping it will just change for them. And in the process, they change their life. Let’s address the root issues so you can move forward. Whether you’re a couple struggling with financial stress or frequent disagreements, a college student debilitated by anxiety, or a teenager struggling with figuring out who you want to be, let’s get to work.
