Yesterday I had a client tell me she went somewhere to get a facial that was gifted to her and in her treatment, the esthetician put her under the LED light and stepped out of the room for 15 minutes.
I cannot believe that this still happens. But then I recently got a facial at a luxury resort and had a similar experience.
This really just comes down to one thing. Training. As an elder esthetician I was taught you absolutely never leave your client in the table alone. My first job out of esthetician school was at a 5 star resort in park city and client experience was a key part of training. It’s always stuck with me. But over the years I have watched an odd shift with this in my industry.
I remember trying to train new estheticians when I was. Spa director to get off of their phones and massage their clients during lash lifts. Don’t just sit there. Touch them! They are here, pamper them. It was a battle sometimes.
If you are an esthetician reading this I can not overstate this enough. Pamper your clients. Love on them. As the world hurdles faster towards AI and we lose more and more human connection, our jobs as estheticians don’t just concern the skin. They concern the heart and what it means to connect as people.
To my clients , yes I work in skin. Pigment, wrinkles, acne . I am an esthetician results are the goal ! However you all never have to wonder if you will get a massage or left alone on the table. When you see me for your facials my goal is to give you the sort of facial I would want. That means alllllllll the pampered pluses because when you book a treatment you aren’t just booking skin care you are booking self care and that embodies everything ❤️❤️
