IVV sends eye teams to Zambia 4-6 times a year, in order to screen for and treat medical conditions that lead to blindness, perform eye surgeries that can restore sight. Our board and physicians who make up the eye teams are all volunteers who donate their time and expertise. Rotary International and Sight Savers have been very supportive partners in our mission. We appreciate any donation large or small to help us in our mission.

Congratulations to Kennedy, our OR tech who won this year’s Labor Day award as IVV/Zimba Eye Clinic’s Hardest Working Employee. Kennedy was one of several IVV employees who actually helped build the current eye clinic structure, and has been with IVV for over 20 years.

We opened the container today after a ceremony of thanks, and then the staff got busy putting the new equipment away— next week they will hook everything up and start training on using the new eye equipment. Thank you to our partner, the Zimba Mission Hospital/Pilgrim Wesleyan Church who helped us with bringing in the container, and of course to the Trinity Institute, which sponsored the purchase and procurement of this equipment.
