Ok, pain is never that simple.
But here are the most common things I see in so many of my clients.

Lower back pain affects close to 70% of the population. It’s said that up to 80% of the population will experience low back pain at some point in their lives and that it’s the second most common cause of disability in US adults and a common reason for lost work days.

Pain in itself can be exhausting, distracting and in some cases debilitating.

In order to ease this pain, it’s important to know where it’s coming from.

Start asking questions. Don’t just accept it.

When did it start? (Is it related to the ergonomics of your workspace?)
When do you feel it most?
Is it unilateral pain or do you feel it on both sides?
What makes it feel better?
What makes it worse?
Is it referring pain anywhere else?

It’s important to ask yourself questions and explore your pain.

This pain is just the bodys way of communicating with you.

Understanding your pain is powerful.

Many times there is not just one solution to your pain.
Its a process that starts when you explore and keep putting effort into finding out what your body needs.

Do you have neck and shoulder pain? Well let’s look at the bigger picture and talk about why your tight chest may be part of the problem.

One thing I will never skip in a session is pec work. Massaging the pecs has been a hugely underrated thing until recently. It is crucial to loosen up the muscle in the front of your body just as much as the back, This is especially for those of you that have upper back pain.
Why?

Think of the hours spent in front of your desk, your phone and hell, even walking. Always with gravity pulling you forward. Of course your shoulders are going to cave in. They get tired. This causes your pectoralis major muscle to shorten, pulling on your clavicle and therefore pulling on the other muscles around the neck and shoulder that attach to it, such as the trapezius (traps) and the sternocleidomastoid (SCM). This causes them to work harder to keep your posture upright. So yes, you may be feeling the pain in your neck and shoulders but you cannot ignore the front of your chest.

You’ll be supersized how much relief you’ll feel if you incorporate some pec stretches in between your work day.
