Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club is a walking club based in central Florida and chartered by the American Volkssport Association (AVA) - America's Walking Club!

See the events tab or visit our website, midfloridamilers.org, for details on upcoming walks. Our events are organized walks through a scenic and/or historic area over a predetermined course. The walk is non-competitive, and each participant travels at his/her own pace, making this an excellent activity for the entire family. Walks generally cover a distance of 10 kilometers (6.1 miles) over a circuitous route. A shorter route of 5 kilometers 3.1 miles) is often. The events encourage outdoor physical activity and exercise, and they are designed for people of all ages and levels of physical fitness. Routes are often accessible for wheelchair and stroller users. There is a charge of $3.00 for all participants in our events. Anyone who finishes an event is eligible for IVV credit through the American Volkssport Association: America’s Walking Club (ava.org)
The primary categories for credit are Event Credit and Distance Credit. Event Credits are recorded for each walk completed and Distance Credits are recorded based on the number of kilometers walked in each event. At various milestones, the credits can be recorded with the American Volkssport Office for certification. Other programs (State Capitols, College Walks, etc.) are available for variety and fun. AVA walks are available throughout the United States and Canada.
