Building a healthy, long-lasting relationship requires intention and awareness.💕

Here are some common habits that can strain connection:

🧍️ People pleasing: Prioritizing your partner's needs over your own can lead to resentment and a lack of authenticity.

🤐 Suppressing needs: Failing to express your needs and desires can result in miscommunication and unmet expectations.

🍷 Alcohol consumption: Excessive drinking can strain relationships by fueling arguments, creating emotional distance, and impacting intimacy.

💻 Working too much: Prioritizing work over your relationship can lead to feelings of neglect and disconnection.

📱 Cell phone scrolling: Constant screen time can interfere with quality time and meaningful connection between partners.

😶 Ignoring emotions: Neglecting your feelings can hinder emotional intimacy and create a barrier to understanding each other's needs.

🙅 Avoiding conflict: Sweeping issues under the rug may prevent resolution, leading to growing tension and dissatisfaction.

💯 Perfectionism: Holding your partner, relationship or self to unrealistic standards can create pressure and disappointment.

Emotional maturity is key to healthy connection and long-lasting love. The good news is that it’s something you can work any time—both in therapy and on your own. Building your capacity to show up as an adult is good for you and your relationship. ✨

Here are ten signs to strive for:

✨ Effective emotional regulation and expression
✨ Constant pursuit of growth and improvement
✨ Genuine empathy for others' feelings
✨ Openness to different perspectives
✨ Confidently taking accountability for actions
✨ Clear and respectful communication of needs
✨Courageously setting boundaries and saying no
✨ Accepting what cannot be changed
✨Respecting others' autonomy and avoiding control
✨Knowing your worth and protecting it

Which of these resonate with you, and which ones are you working on? Remember, we’re all a work in progress and personal growth is a life long endeavor. 🌟

It takes immense courage to truly listen to your inner voice and honor your needs, especially when your feelings for someone are strong. It's crucial to confront the reality of your relationship and work together to create a fulfilling partnership or accept that it's not the right fit.

Don't be afraid to grow and evolve, even if it means letting go of what no longer serves you. Tune in to your body, feelings, and the impact your partner has on you. If something feels off, have the courage to face the truth and love yourself enough to make choices that align with your well-being.

Embrace the power of self-honesty and cultivate a relationship that allows both you and your partner to thrive, whether together or apart.
