Part of our program helps youth in-out-of-home placement to function independently and other areas to improve the functioning of youth and families in the realm of education, employment, and ability to live successfully. Essential components of the treatment strategy generally include:
-Helping the family access community resources for the entire family and develop a social support network in their natural environment.
-Conducting individual and family therapy and /or support weekly.
-Facilitating educational achievement.
-Providing parenting skills and education- including consistency, discipline, communication, and coping strategies.
-Facilitating the development of positive peers and monitoring by parents.
-Offering special strategies concentrating on issues of sexual problem behaviors and substance abuse.
-Teaching basic living skills, age-appropriate personal habits and social skills.
-Assisting family members with access to psychiatric services and ongoing medication management, as needed.
-Providing 24-hour emergency assistance 7 days per week to prevent or address crisis. Treatment usually lasts from nine to twelve months depending on severity and risk factors. In cases where a youth is transitioning back to their home from an out-of-home placement, treatment lasts an average of nine months, with three months to transition the child home and another four to six months to ensure stability on their permanent placement. What We Do
-Conduct a thorough psychological assessment.
-Identify specific goals and assign measurable tasks to the individual.
-Monitor progress by conducting sessions a minimum of three times per week.
-Empower the individual to manage behaviors at large.
-Develop targeted interventions until the individual reaches the goals established in the treatment plan.
