We are proud to welcome Douglas J. Harrison, MD, MS, as the new Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology in our Delaware Valley region.
Dr. Harrison is a nationally recognized oncologist with expertise in bone and soft tissue sarcomas, with a special focus on childhood and adolescent rhabdomyosarcoma.
In his new role, he will also serve as the Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Presidential Endowed Chair, leading the talented team at the Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours Children’s Health.
Previously, Dr. Harrison served as Center Medical Director and professor of Pediatrics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

At just 5 years old, Freya was diagnosed with B-cell leukemia. With the support of Dr. Douglas and her care team at Nemours Children’s, she’s now 6 and thriving in maintenance treatment.
Freya’s journey is filled with courage, hope, and big dreams for the future, including becoming a doctor for her very own snail patients in a storybook her family is creating.
