The world is a little darker today as we have lost a shining light in our community, Eric Garrett. We first met Eric when Dr. Newman was fresh out of residency and we were a young couple with two tiny kids trying to figure out how to raise a family, run a business, start a practice and take care of patients. It was just the two of us. Eric was our Allergan breast implant representative. He was kind, funny and he believed in us. When another Allergan rep told us we were too small and not important enough to call on for Botox, he contacted the company to get us someone else. He took care of us not because he had to, but because he was good. He believed in us. Through the years he saw our family grow, practice flourish and all along the way, he was always Eric. We watched him fall head over heels in love with his beautiful wife Shannon. We spoke of the changing world, the bumps and mountains, our core of Faith and principles of life to be fair, kind and be good people. The time we had with him was a gift, one we will always cherish. Peace, Dear Friend. Until we meet again. ❤️

The incomparable amazed us (again) with her commitment to change the future of education by making tools accessible to not only advance the education of children with dyslexia but all children.

Understanding the Anatomical Changes of Aging allows us to approach Restoration and Enhancement in a Logical and Effective Manner.

Common concerns that patients ask to address include “Jowls” “Smile Lines” and “Tear Troughs.” These are typically symptoms of anatomical changes and deficiencies over time. The bony structure of an infant is similar to an aged person. The difference is often the overlying soft tissue volume and efficiency of the ligament suspension. The former two causes can be addressed effectively with volume replacement and structural mimicking using injectable fillers.

Last weekend Dr. Newman joined other Wake Forest Plastic Surgery Alumni in celebrating the 40 year career of Dr. Malcolm Marks, retiring Chief of Plastic Surgery.
Over 50 plastic surgeons from around the country made the journey to pay tribute to this incredible surgeon that trained them at Wake Forest. The room was filled with true admiration for a man who truly loves the process of treating patients, performing surgery, and teaching the generations of surgeons after him, all while balancing intelligence, wit and compassion. Dr. Newman has appreciated his influence throughout his career. We felt fortunate to have been able to show our appreciation in celebrating the career of one of the truly Greatest of All Time.
