AI is playing a growing role in how doctors diagnose, treat and monitor pancreatic cancer, which is often difficult to detect early and treat effectively.

At Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute, surgeons like Dr. Shyam Varadarajulu leverage AI technology to detect patterns that can suggest early pancreatic cancer or pre-cancerous lesions.

This week, digestive health experts from across the globe will join the institute at Florida Live EUS 2025, the premier global event in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), to share research and discuss a variety of topics including the role of AI in digestive health medicine.

When Robyn was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer in 2021, she was told to say her goodbyes. But as a mom of three young daughters, she wasn't ready to give up.

Over the next few years, she faced every challenge head-on -- including biopsies, chemotherapies, radiation, immunotherapy and surgeries. “I dwindled from 140 pounds to 67 pounds,” she says. “And my kids were affected, as they missed out on things like soccer games to visit me in the hospital.”

Thanks to innovative treatments and a dedicated care team at Orlando Health, she defied the odds. Today, Robyn remains cancer-free, weighs a promising 107 pounds and hasn’t had chemo for a year.

“I am no longer in survival mode,” she says. “Now I can focus on thriving instead of surviving.”
