Our goal is for children and families who visit us to feel at home. We know that a hospital can be a scary place for a young child. So we’ve gone above and beyond to create a care center that is friendly and perhaps even a little fun. At AdventHealth for Children we have made it our purpose to provide your family with the most advanced pediatric medical services built on the foundation of treating all our patients as if they were are own. With more then 140 pediatric specialists practicing in 35 specialties dedicated to healing children, we have built a connected network of 28 trusted locations from Urgent Cares to Emergency Rooms and from Specialty Clinics to NICUs. We appreciate and encourage the conversations and perspectives shared by the diverse AdventHealth online community. As a patient at the S.M.I.L.E. with Stella Down Syndrome Clinic, Mia inspires everyone she meets. Her mom, Angela, turned their journey into a book that teaches children about kindness, inclusion, and understanding Down Syndrome.

Meet the Velez family. When Elizabeth & Jose’s son Draco was born with Down Syndrome, they found themselves juggling care from 7–8 different doctors at once. Then they found the S.M.I.L.E. with Stella Down Syndrome Clinic and Dr. McConkey.

“I cried in the office because we finally had someone in our corner—someone who could coordinate everything and make sure Draco gets the best care,” Elizabeth shared. “I’ve been looking for this kind of care for 14 years.”

Today, Draco is thriving, living his best life surrounded by a care team and family that helps him shine every day. Because at AdventHealth for Children, whole-person care means helping every patient be unstoppable. 💙
