After age 22, many families discover there are very few options for their adult children. OCA’s adult programs offer multiple tracks focused on vocational skills, life skills, and community connection. From meal prep to social communication to navigating public spaces, participants master everyday moments and gain greater independence. Our families with loved ones in these programs tell us they finally feel hopeful about what adulthood can become.💚

Today, we’re giving a big thank you to The Parikh Giving Alliance for their continued support of OCA.

Earlier this month, their team joined us for a tour to see our facility and programs in action. We were honored to receive a grant from the alliance earlier this year that helped us support our participants and strengthen the work happening every day within our walls.

Today, we honor A.J. Adamczak for nine years of leadership as Board Chair of OCA 💙

A.J.’s tenure helped shape OCA into the organization it is today. Through years of growth, change, and uncertainty, including navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, his steady leadership, care, and deep commitment to our mission guided our organization forward and strengthened its impact across the community.

We are grateful for the time, vision, and dedication A.J. brought to this role. His leadership leaves a lasting mark on OCA.

Running Man Theatre Update 🎭✨

Rehearsals are about to kick off as OCA brings its newest original production to life with Orlando Family Stage! ✨ Written by participant Edwin Vazquez and musically shaped with visiting UCF professor Ralph Krumins, this marks OCA’s 32nd original work since 2010.

This just in ⛳ OCA has a new partnership with Avtar's Golf Academy Foundation, and we are honored to be one of the beneficiaries of their upcoming golf tournament.

When golfers come together for this event, they are doing more than playing a great round. They are helping support inclusive programs that celebrate ability, build confidence, and create community for individuals and families across Central Florida.

OCA’s recreation programs are built around one simple belief: everyone deserves a place to belong. 💙

Siblings Caleb and Emma have found that sense of belonging at OCA for more than 10 years, growing up alongside our organization as it moved through different facilities, seasons, and milestones while building meaningful connections along the way.

Caleb says his favorite part of OCA is the memories and friends he’s made, and with his 16th birthday approaching, he’s excited about what’s next: getting his first job and taking another step toward independence.

Through sports, theatre, after-school care, and camps, participants in our recreation programs grow in confidence while forming real connections with peers and staff who see their abilities first.

Clear skies, big smiles, and even bigger milestones ✈️🎓

We loved celebrating our First Flight Academy graduates at the First Flight Academy Ceremony. This day was all about confidence earned, skills mastered, and proud moments that mattered. From showing up with courage to crossing the stage with confidence, every graduate reminded us what saying yes looks like 💙

First Flight Academy prepares young adults for life after school through social learning, independent living skills, and future planning. Supporting participants as they take their next step is why this program exists.

So proud of every graduate, every family, and every staff member who helped make this journey take flight 🚀
